Case Study: The PR of "Hi! I'm New Here!"
When you are new and self-published, how do you break into the industry and establish your brand?
As a first time author, our client needed to navigate a marketing and publicity plan from scratch. His book was about a recent college graduate who picks up a job in a big city for a big shot exec. What was needed was a comprehensive PR plan to introduce his brand into the industry. We started by creating his personal LinkedIn profile and determining the best media outlets for him to pursue speaking and writing opportunities. We garnered as many relationships as possible and made sure to use consistency in keywords and descriptions across his brand presence.
We decided to also create LinkedIn pages for the main characters from his book. We replicated their resumes and personalities within their profiles, and even facilitated some conversation between the pages.
We also had the characters engage with other pages like booksellers and retailers to establish brand relationships in a fun and organic way.
As a result, our client is able to garner brand partnerships without generically cold-calling, which helps him get his book sold into more locations, and boosts his brand presence as an author.
