The 3-Letter Difference Between Success and ‘Just Starting’
I talk to a lot of business owners. Existing and aspiring.
Sometimes I think about the conversations that I have and I try to think about what the common factors are between the businesses who are seeking success and the ones who have found it. The phrase that comes to mind is ‘I’m figuring it out.’
There’s a lot of anxiety that comes with starting a business. There are so many things to figure out. What is your brand, your budget, how do you get customers or clients, where do you start, when do you start, what will your process look like, what ducks need to be lined up?
It’s not that it’s a bad thing to think through these things; they are all important. But analysis paralysis is a real thing, and it’s lethal.
I often ask successful business owners how they figured everything out, and they almost always say ‘I have nothing figured out. I’m just doing it.’
The old adage ‘do or do not, there is no try’? Obviously Yoda never started his own business. The three letter difference between success and just starting, is ‘try’. Try is all there is. And the only time to try is now.
